Kyambogo warriors have withdrawn from the regional zone 5 club basketball championships due in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania. The Warriors manager Brian Gumisiriza confirmed. He cited lack of funds as the reason for withdraw. Warriors pull out implies Miracle Eagles can join DMark Power as replacement for the October 9-15 tournament. Power’s participation would be their first outside the country in ten years.
In the women’s half, the slots are granted to UCU Lady Canons and losing finalist A1 Challenge. However the hopes of the two participating hang by thread as the trip is costly and lack finance has been a big challenge for local sports clubs over the years.
