
Just after Nkumba Marines said they can’t afford to lose another game, Heaters George Odongo scored game high 13 points and picked 8 rebounds as Heaters edged the Entebbe based Marines 44-43 in a poor low scoring game. The win was Heaters 3rd in 13 and pushed them to 5th in the standings with 2 games ahead of most of the teams in the division.In the women’s division Cubs continued their poor run to the season as they lost to KCC Leopards 18-53 while the Stormers showed they are good enough for a play-off place with a 43-24 win over Crane High and Nabisunsa did everything in a losing effort but put up a great fight and a fair performance in their 40-55 lose to Rhino
Lynx Take Lead in WNBA Finals
The Minnesota Lynx took a 1-0 lead against the Atlanta Dream in the WNBA Finals following their 88-74 win on Sunday (Monday morning). The Lynx showed why they are the number one team in the WNBA after going down in the 1st two quarters to level in the 3rd and win the final quarter to take the lead.
Lynx Power Forward Rebekkah Brunson led with 26 points while Dream’s Angel McCoughtry put up a WNBA Finals scoring record in a quarter when she made 19 of her 25 in the 3rd quarter.
Lynx win implies they are just two wins away from the championship in the best of five series final. Game 2 is on Wednesday (Thursday morning) and then the finals will move to Atlanta for Game 3 on Friday (Saturday morning)
