Seed two Ian Rukunya received a bye into round three at the Independence Squash tournament that is going on at Kampala club.
His opponent Deo Kato, failed to turn up for his encounter with him. In other encounters Oskar Musoke beat Mathias Nyombi 9-8, 9-6, 9-7 while Richard Tinka was a 3-1 winner over Stephen Musisi 9-8,8-9,9-7,9-8.
Timothy Kayondo beat J.B Tamwesigire 10-9, 9-8, 8-9 ,7-9 ,9-6, Andrew Lutaya beat Coutts Muhenda 6-9 ,9-8, 9-5 , 9-8, James Micheal beat Stephen Magero scores were 9-6, 9-8 ,9-7, Sam Kyagulanyi beat Martin Fowler 9-8 ,9-7, 9-5.
The tournament is part of celebrations to mark Uganda 49th Independence day celebrations. Kampala Club also has other sports activities to commemorate Independence like table tennis, badminton and tennis.
The grand finals will conclude on Saturday 8 October with a grand prize ceremony and dinner dance.
