Football fans and members of the soccer fraternity that includes corporate leaders have expressed different sentiments after the Cranes failed to qualify for the Africa cup of nations after their goalless draw with Kenya’s Harambe stars.

“It’s unbelievable that all the pressure was put on the players by the federation and policitians at a time when the players need concentration to go through for the first time since 1978,” a Italian football manager who watched the match said. “It is surprising that the best player of the team who has played so well for the team in good and bad times was dropped because he walked out on his team-mates before the president toured the camp. Infact the president of the federation should resign for making such a decision”

This defeat comes in the week of chaos that led to the sacking of David Obua, who was a scorer of two goals in the campaign with his vital goal that he scored in Bissau. It’s not the first time that Obua has been the center of attraction in football.

Another corporate manager who prefered anonymity was dismayed by the run up to the game. “I am surprised that a federation president chooses his team and disciplines his players then what is the responsibilty of the national coach,”this manager said. “The federation has failed to work with different personalities and even if certain individuals are stubborn and bad mannered they should leave committees to discipline them.”

There is been mixed reaction from the soccer fraternity over Cranes failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.
