KIU Titans lived another day at the YMCA courts on Friday evening when they edged out Nkumba Marines 81-55 in a MTN FUBA basketball league game.
Titans have now gone two games up with wins over Charging Rhinos and Marines to ease their relegation worries in this clash that pitted two university sides however on the night this win was a significant one for KIU as they seek to remain in the league.
Marines could instead find themselves dropping down in the relegation dog race. Joshua Etelu, scored 14 points for his side while Juma Abraham added 13 points for the Titans. Ladislius Ikungura, scored a high 19 points for the Marines with Alex Mugoya sinking in 18 for the Marines.
In the women’s league Jackie Basemera scored 18 points to lead her side Amazon Rhinos to 63-51 win over the Gladiators in a thrilling game at the same venue.
Jane Kiwanuka scored a game high 25 points for the Gladiators, but that was not enough for to rescue her side in this clash.
