
Top squash player and number one in the country Michael Kawooya, is looking forward to retaining his crown at the Nile Gold Squash Open that swings into action from November 7-12 at Kampala Club.
“I have been training hard for this event as this is one of our major events on the calendar,” Kawooya said. “I know I will have to work hard to keep my challengers at bay.”
Kawooya beat Ian Rukunya Kajubu and he will be major challenger to him in this tournament other opponents who will pose a threat include Brian Okumu, Lawrence Matovu together with Sam Kyagulanyi.
Uganda Squash Rackets Association has had its calendar seriously affected due to the financial crush that has affected the global and made sponsorship difficult to get.
