
Athletes from all over the country and from all over the global are set for the ninth edition of the 2011 MTN Kampala marathon slated for December.
The biggest sporting event on the country’s sporting calendar, and draws together sports and non-sports enthusiasts, from all walks of life will be officially launched tomorrow at Kampala Serena Hotel.
The marathon is expected to attract elite athletes from Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia and Eritrea with Uganda having the biggest entry of star athletes.
Last year’s winner was Jacob Arapmarich who won the 21 kilometer race while Moses Kibet was winner in the men’s 10 km race. Double Commonwealth gold medalist Moses Ndiema Kipsiro was fourth in the men’s 10km.
