
Greg Lukendo and Jonah Byakutaga topped the Guinness Football Challenge leader board in a fiercely contested battle of brains and skills to win 36 million in the second episode of the TV show.
This is the second week in a row that Uganda has emerged tops after Richard Kagimu and Edwin Komakech also of Uganda took the first position to win USD 300 in episode one of the Guinness Football Challenge TV show.
The team pulled through tough competition from the other teams from Kenya and Tanzania, as well as their counterparts from Uganda Richard Kagimu and Edwin Komakech, winners of last week’s episode 1.
Representing Kenya in episode 2 of the show was the red team of George Sitima andJonathan Tai, who only managed to go up to quarter finals. Episode one winners from Ugandaencountered stiff competition from the teams and were eliminated in the first round of the show, not leaving empty handed though but managing to win USD 300 in the Mystery Goalkeeper question.
In the ‘Formation Round’, the Ugandan team sped ahead scoring 14 points in the brain challenge and securing extra balls for the skill challenge.
The Ugandan team again scored 6 points from 5 balls, compared to the 2 points for the Kenyan and Tanzanian teams in the third round.
The Tanzanian team correctly answered the tiebreak question putting them up against the Ugandans in the semi final.
The semi final saw the Ugandan team demonstrate brilliant skills as the brain of the team not only answered the knowledge questions correctly, but he also saved a number of the penalties against him from the Tanzania team.
The round ended five goals to zero for Uganda giving them the chance to take home big cash prizes in the Guinness Money Wall where they managed to hit the set target in the Guinness Money wall giving them a cool win of Ksh 1.2 Million.
Each week, the winning team from the previous show will return to take on three new sets of challengers and see if they have what it takes to win.
The teams have up to a total USD 50,000 to win by the end of the season.
