
Africa’s top badminton player Edwin Ekiring, fell in the first round of the Bitburger Open in Saarbrucken, Germany going down to Indonesia’s Andre Kurniawan Tedjono 9-21,12-21 yesterday.
“It was not good results for me and I am disappointed with the way I played,” Ekiring said. “I am now going to switch my attention to my club training and my next tournament that is the Norway Open.
Ekiring recently jumped to the number one position in the latest Confederation of African Badminton Rankings and has promised to rise further in the rankings as he seeks to participate in six more events on the professional circuit.
His schedule will see him also take part in Botswana International, South Africa International, Ireland International, Italy International and Turkey International.
