Uganda Super League has restated that Kavuma Kabenge, is still the chairman of the league and soccer governing body has no powers to remove him from power according to a statement released this evening by the league’s spokesman James Sekandi.
Media reports had earlier reported that the Express strong man and boss had been thrown out by the Jinja Declaration Committee according to FUFA’s spokesperson Rogers Mulindwa.
The bespectacled football administrator was however replaced on the five man Jinja Declaration Committee and not as chairman.
In the statement released by USL it stated Under the Articles and Memorandum of Association of the USLL, the appointment or removal of the chairman of the USLL rests with the board.

Meanwhile the USL has reaffirmed that Hoima (Busia Tigers) FC has not been reinstated as a member of the Uganda Super League Limited.
“Hoima failed to comply with the requirements to gain admission to the USLL and to participate in 2011/2012 season. It is therefore practically not possible to re-start the league for one club or have a new fixture redrawn when other clubs have played more than 7 games. A professional league that we are aspiring to achieve can only become a reality when it’s conducted and managed in an orderly manner.”
