The final weekend of the MTN FUBA League season will present no numbing performances as the top seed and the other team to join DMark Power, Kyambogo Warriors and Miracle Eagles at the playoffs will have to play for the spot over the weekend.
DMark Power (15-2) will play leaders Kyambogo Warriors (16-1) to decide who tops the division. Power will have to win with more than 13 points to overturn the first round loss to Kyambogo Warriors to claim the top spot. The two teams will play to avoid Miracle Eagles who could pose a threat to either title ambitions despite their poor run of late.
Having beaten already relegated Rhinos on Sunday evening, UCU Canons (8-9) are most likely to join Warriors, Power and Eagles in the post season scheduled to start on Thursday 17th November but would be stamped with a win against Nkumba Marines (5-12) in their final game of the regular season. A loss could give KIU Titans (7-10) or Ndejje Angels (7-10) a chance to break into the top four and take the slot as the two university sides face off in their final regular season schedule.
In the women’s division, the playoff places will go to leaders KCC Leopards, UCU Lady Canons, KIU Rangers but the fourth and final place could also be decided on the final weekend as well. It was almost certain that the place would go to Magic Stormers but then the Makerere Sparks came back into contention and also stand a chance to play in the post season.
