Top seeds start well in Castle Lite squash championship

Seed four Lawrence Matovu, Seed six Paul Kadoma,Seed one and defending champion Michael Kawooya together with seed three Ian Rukunya Kajubu started well in Group A at the Castle Lite Squash Open championship at Kampala club.

Matovu started his quest for honours at this prestigious tournament when he brushed aside seed seven Shai Henkel 9-3,9-3,9-0 in the Pool A. Seed six

Paul Kadoma overcame seed two Brian Okumu 9-0,9-2,9-1 in Pool B.

Ian Rukunya Kajubu had a walk over Ali Sewagudde while defending champion champion and top seed Michael Kawooya beat seed five Samuel Kyagulanyi 9-0,9-5,9-3 in Pool A the elite group are playing in a round robin format that is in both pools with the best player in each pool reaching the finals where the winner and loser walk away with a trophy and cash prizes. The Nile Breweries sponsored tournament under their brand Castle Lite concludes on Saturday at 7pm with a grand prize ceremony and cocktail.

In the ladies games top seed and defending champion  Kate Kaben beat Joan Numunina 9 -4 , 9 -0 , 9 – 1 Agnes  Nabaloga seed four beat Joanita Nampijja 9-0,9-0,9-0
