Two youngsters battle for Castle Lite Squash championship

Seed three Ian Rukunya Kajubu, stands in top seed and defending champion Michael Kawooya’s way as he seeks to retain his crown in today’s final at the Castle Lite squash open championship at Kampala club, this evening.

The two seeded players who play for Uganda’s national squash team  finished undefeated in their respective pools in the tournament to set up a mouth-watering finale at the magnificent glass back court at the club. The final is expected to be characterised by long rallies as both players are expected to put a race for every ball on the court.

In the other final in group B Richard Tinka, the secretary of Uganda Squash Rackets Association takes on Brand manager of Nile Breweries Timothy Kayondo. In the plate final Muzafaru Muwanguzi takes on Herbert Kafrica while last year’s winner in the women’s event Kate Kabenge takes on Edith Wamalwa. The winners and losers will walk away with trophies and cash prizes. Nile Breweries under their brand Castle Lite have sunk 12 million shillings in this week long tournament. The event will end with a grand prize ceremony and cocktail.
