Six elite athletes enter MTN Kampala marathon
Five star Ethiopian athletes and one Kenyan have shown their intentions early to win the 16 million in the ninth edition of the MTN Kampala marathon by registering today at the MTN Arena for the event that will be held on November 27.
According to the data from the Arena Ethiopia’s Ameta Belachew Alemayehu, One of Kenya’s pace maker Stephen Kurui others are Tefere Dinknesh Mekash, runner up of the Ethiopian half marathon 2011 and ninth position in the Rome Marathon, Turualem Bekele and Gurmu Shambel Goro and Ayanu Tigist Teshome.

The foreign legion is expected to face off some serious challenge from the Ugandan athletes likely to be led by Commonwealth games double gold medalist Moses Ndiema Kipsiro,Moses Kibet,Simon Ayieko,Benjamin Kiplagat and the rest.
The number is expected to increase this week with several runners eager to race in the 10 kilometer race, the marathon and half marathon at the same time.

This year’s winner will bag 16 million shillings in the 42 kilometer race which is a big increment than last year where the winner took back 8 million shillings.
