Top Uganda lady golfers will go into tomorrow’s Pepsi Uganda Ladies Open golf championship with an advantage of knowing the ups and downs of the par 72 Kitante golf course.

Defending champion Flavia Namakula,is under the spot light, but is under no pressure going into the biggest golf tournament on the Uganda Ladies Golf Union calendar. “I am under no pressure going into tomorrow’s action I have gone through the course and the conditions are

perfect,” Namakula said. “I am not scared of the opposition and will play my normal game.”

Namakula’s biggest challenge will come from Tanzania’s Angel Eaton, Zambia’s 15 year old Tina Nawa, Zimbabwe’s Claire Minter and Kenya’s long hitter Mary Karano, but that alone she still has to keep a close eye on Uganda’s Jasper Kamukama, Monica Ntege and Eva Magala.

This year’s edition has attracted the biggest number of foreign entrants with 14 lady golfers from Tanzania while Kenya will have two, Zambia two and Zimbabwe two.

Crown Beverages, makers of Pepsi have sunk close to 22 million shillings into the three day tournament other sponsors are Nile Breweries, Rwenzori Water and MTN. The subsidiary starts on Saturday and concludes on Sunday.
