2006 3,000 meters steeplechase Commonwealth games gold medal winner Dorcus Inzikuru, won the 21 kilometer women’s race at the MTN Kampala marathon for a second year running this morning at Kololo airstrip.
The star athlete who is commonly know as the “Arua Gazelle” crossed the tape with a time of 01.19.18 and also will walk away with 4.5 million cash prize. She
was closely followed by Rionotukei Chemtai from Kenya with a time of 01.19.23 and 2.5million Kenya’s Lilian Chelimo with a time of 01.19.54 was third and a cash prize of 1.5 million. Emily Chebet and Carol Migadde where fourth and fifth with times of 01.20.44 and 01.22.40
Earlier, Ugandans had dominated in the 10KM men and women’s category.
