
Uganda Ladies Open Golf champion Flavia Namakula, is tipped to walk away with the Nile Special sports personality of the month of November tomorrow when the sports scribes meet at Lugogo stadium for their monthly meeting.
Namakula, winner of the 58th edition of Uganda Lady’s Golf Open while have to beat off a challenge from MTN half marathon winner Dorcus Inzikuru, MTN women marathon winner Jane Suuto other nominees for the month award include Volleyball players Dickens Otim and Ambrose Okello who won the International beach volleyball tournament in Entebbe. Edwin Ekiring winner of the Botswana International and the Uganda Cranes for finishing runner-up in the LG Cup in Morocco.
The UPDF soldier claimed the most prestigious prize on the Uganda Ladies Golf Union calendar the 25 year old fired an aggregate of 223 to beat golfers from Tanzania, Zimbabwe and her fellow countrywomen in the three-day competition.
Namakula beat her closest rival of Iddi Madina of Tanzania by five strokes to claim her second consecutive Uganda Open title.
The Uganda Sports Press Association monthly meeting is sponsored by Nile Breweries with every monthly winner walking away with a trophy and a cash prize of 500,000.
