Kassim Rashid wins Mr Uganda bodybuilding championship

Entebbe’s Kassim Rashid, beat 31 body builders to claim the ninth edition of Mr Uganda body building championship at Sheraton Hotel Rwenzori Ball room last Sunday.

Rashid was the overwhelming favourite going into the prestigious championship after last year’s winner Ivan Byekwaso, pulled out due to an international event that he took part in Kenya. On the night Rashid also won the light middleweight division.

The first runner-up was Ben Lukwago, who also won the middleweight division while John Kibirige,was second runner-up and winner in the welterweight division.

“I am was feeling confident going into this championship and knew I would win it,” Rashid said. “It would have been better if Ivan Byekwaso was around, but I have to warn him that am coming for me next.”

Andrew Senoga, was the winner in heavyweight division,John Nsubuga was winner in light heavy,Lameck Muwanga, took the lightweight division,Ismail Damba and Paul Simbwa took bantam and flyweight divisions respectively.

The winner will represent the country at the All Africa bodybuilding champion next year.
