Express star player Bonny Baingana,has hailed his team-mates and coach for helping him win back to back footballer of the month awards.
The nifty 21 year old Express marksman made the remarks will picking up the Bell Lager Footballer of the Month of November award at the East African Breweries Plant at Luzira.
“I would like to thank my coaches,
my team-mates and family for making it possible for me too attain two awards in such a short period,” the youngster said at the brief award ceremony at Luzira. “I have worked hard for my efforts and I hope to work even harder to win more of these awards again.”
Baingana won the same award for the month of September. He toppled KCC FC’s Tom Masiko second and Maroons FC’s Alex Tulilaaba in third to claim the November award.
The awards are aimed at motivating, inspiring,recognizing and rewarding outstanding Ugandan footballer for their exceptional display of skill during the league are a prelude to the eventual annual awards, brand officials intimated.
“We want Ugandan players to identify with a brand that is deeply embedded in Uganda’s heritage,” Innocent Tibayeita, the marketing manager EABL said. “In essence Bell Lager will become the spark that ignites Uganda and it will be delivered through football. We believe that these awards will increase competitiveness in Ugandan football hence promote professionalism.”
