Moses Golola’s promoter Patrick Kanyomozi, has finally broken his silence over the controversial WKF Inter-continental super middleweight title fight that was held at Hotel Africana last Friday.
“I had to clear the air after my name has been tarnished by a group of individuals after this fight,” an emotional Patrick Kanyomozi, who broke down at a press conference held at Oasis restaurant Lugogo. “The confusion started after his ‘manager’ Pastor Evans Mayambala,(Golola’s elder brother) back tracked on the agreement that we had with the fighter on the percentage that we were supposed to have shared after deducting the taxes.”
The fight was promoted by Kweli Productions that is under Kanyomozi and other directors.
It was agreed that Kweli Productions was to take 60 percent from the fight and 40 percent to Golola. The controversial fight ended with Golola being announced winner twice and loser once thus leaving a lot of questions that where left hanging by the organisers.
“It’s not true that I have failed to pay Moses Golola and its also not true that they have held him in custody at the hotel,” Kanyomozi said at the press conference that was attended by Police and had tight security. “It’s also not true that I have been on the run you can see that even this press conference has been granted to go on with the consent of the Jinja Road Police station.” The African super middleweight champion received 4.4 million shillings for fight and will have a rematch on April 27 at Hotel Africana.
