Ndejje University win Inter-University Games

The inter-university games held at Ndejje University, Luweero district attracted over 21 institutions. They participated in over 15 disciplines including football, handball, woodball, swimming and athletics.

Ndejje managed to collect 12 gold and Nkumba, an Entebbe based University came second overrall. Elsewhere, Joseph Chebet of Ndejje won gold in 10000m significantly beating former national marathon record holder

Alex Malinga of Kampala university who finished 5th.

Nkumba men’s side, the volleyball league champions beat Ndejje 3-2 to take gold. Makerere also garnered gold in women’s football after snatching victory from Kampala university in the final. Lillian Zawedde also snatched gold in woodball for the tournament hosts. The hosts were crowned winners after the four day event and had made it to almost every final of each competition. Other universities included Mbarara, UCU Mukono, Gulu and KIU.
