Ponsiano Lwakataka quits

After almost losing his life in a scuffle with rally fans at Festino Cite in Mukono, the 2005 and 2007 National Rally Champion(NRC) has quit motorsport in all aspects. He says he did this not in good heart but on seeing that all fans at Festino Cite supported those who did mob justice on him.

This was instigated on boxing day after a rowdy mob attacked the rally ace demanding for MX riders who had not made it to the event. They demanded for their entrance fees from him and in the long run, Ponsiano was hit on the head and was rushed away bleeding. His Subaru car, UAL 441T was also smashed by the uncontrolled fans.

Lwakataka says there are some people behind this drama who do not wish him well even among the top FMU officials. He started motorsport in September, 2000 and the motorsport fraternity has lost out on a renown sports enthusiast. He was also the president of Southern motor club, a motosport organising club.
