
Seventy five golfers are set to tee off tomorrow at the par 72 Uganda Golf Club Kitante course as they take part in the national golf team qualifiers that will be held over three days at various clubs.
The golfers will play a total of 18 holes first in Kampala today and then they will play another 18 at Entebbe golf club and will then conclude their rounds at Palm Valley Golf and Country Club and Kakungulu estate playing the same number of rounds.
“The purpose of the qualifiers is to select side of 15 players to represent the country at the Zone VI event is slated for this April in Malawi,” a golf official said. “The team will be put in camp and trimmed after playing in more qualifiers.”
Notable players slated to take part include in-form golfer Abbey Bagalana from Uganda Golf Club,Lawrence Muhenda from Kilembe,Rogers Byaruhanga, winner of the Uganda Open 2011, Phillip Kasozi, Adolf Muhumuza, Patrick Mugisha, Patrick Mwaka, Henry Lujja.
