
Africa’s top badminton player Edwin Ekiring, fell to France’s Lucas Corvee 21-12,21-17 in the first round of the Estonia International as he started his season on a wrong footing.
The Dutch based Uganda professional player is seeking to improve his ratings in the world and will now switch his focus to the Swedish International next
week where he will play China’s Yixin Zhu in the first round.
He is also preparing to help his club Amersfoort reach the European Badminton Finals this year as they are playing in the semi-finals.
“I have a busy schedule in the year which will also see me playing at the Uganda International next month,”Ekiring said. “I have to maintain my momentum for me to improve on my rankings.”
The Nile Special Uganda Sportsman of the year 2011 nominee will also play at the Thomas Uber Cup for team Uganda.
