Falcons still in search for more players

Seven Up Falcons basketball club, who missed out in last season’s MTN FUBA men’s play-offs have once again been the busiest team in the transfer window signing the Blick brothers for the upcoming season and are still in search for more talent.

“The club is still in search for talent ahead of the new season and I can assure we shall be signing two centers and a point guard before the league starts,” Dennis Mbidde, Falcons president said. “After signing the Blick brothers that is Norman and Donald we are not yet done.”

Falcons, Uganda’s most successful basketball side last season where embroiled in a battle with FUBA over the usuage of Kenyan import Phillip Amwenyi, which led to them being docked points during the season and losing out a place in the play-offs.

“We are also looking for a full time coach and we have identified one for new campaign,” Mbidde stressed. “Last season we had a short term contract with Hamza Wambogo, and we want to see if he can remain our coach.”

Mbidde however was non-committal on the futures of Abdullah Ramadan and Richard Osando Omondi, but added that they are still part of the team.
