Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) held an AGM at the NCS offices in Lugogo yesterday. According to the KAVC executive secretary, Mofaht Masaba, it was a non elective meeting and the 42 year old club’s current executive was in preparations for their 2nd year in office after taking over power a year ago.

The meeting which attracted close to 50 people highlighted KAVC’s 2011’s successes and failures. In their 2012 programme, they promised to improve on structures, bring beach volleyball to the brim and

expand their sponsorship base. MTN and UBL are lined up so as to join NSSF and Roofings for sponsorship.

Elsewhere, the Uganda Volleyball Federation might revisit the polemical terms and conditions linked to players’ transfers among different clubs on 29th January in the elective assembly.

UCU’s Tom Amau and Eunice Niwabigaba of KAVC could leave for Nemo Stars. Waiswa Moses of army side, UPDF might make a shift to Ndejje. Eddie Okila and Namuwaya May are also the names being thrown around the transfer market which closes at the end of January.
