The president of Uganda Netball Federation (UNF), Susan Anek Ongom is set to seek re-election for another term in office. The UNF was disbanded by the National Council of Sports (NCS) on November 26th last year.
Anek Ongom, a teacher at Lango college is also the vice chairperson technical for secondary school. She took over office in November 2006. During her term of office, the She Cranes remarkably won gold in Maputo and triumphed in Zanzibar recently.
Each candidate seeking the presidency of UNF is required to cough a non refundable fee of 1 million shillings and there will be an elective general assembly at Oasis restaurant in March. The president will be able to choose her executive members on attaining office.
Uganda is also in plans of hosting the EastAfrica netball club championships for both men and women in February. NIC, UCU, UPDF and Prisons will represent the ladies and in the men’s category, UCU and Prisons will feature.
