4th Woodball Annual Congress Nears

Woodball may be a new sport in this country but it has grown incessant. The tenacious Uganda Woodball Federation (UWF) is set to hold its 4th annual congress this Saturday at its headquarters along Balintuma road.
The annual congress will review UWF’s past year in office, and set goals for this year. UWF wants to take the sport corporate and produce more elite athletes.

The Paul Mark Kayongo headed body, an affiliate of the International Woodball Federation (IWF) was started in 2008 and its 9 member executive has gathered tremendous success. The sport has taken centre stage in many tertiary institutions and its slowly picking in high schools. Uganda hosted the 3rd world woodball championships which helped UWF trample over the sport’s critics.

Last Friday, UWF held a woodball clinic at Lugogo cricket oval with USPA scribes with aim of teaching the scribes how to play, score and report the sport.
