Crested Cranes start preparations for Kinshasha

Uganda’s national women football side, the Crested Cranes commenced their preparations for the 2nd leg encouter with DR Congo at Njeru techinical centre.
The 25 man squad is among the first sides to use this multi million facility. In breaking the ice, the players will get used to the playing surface which is similar to the one in Kinshasha.

The headcoach, Majidah Nantanda plans to improve on the players’ shooting at goal and their timely passes. Her technical assistant, Lisa Berg from Akonso university returned to USA after the first leg at Nakivubo last Saturday.

The Crested Cranes’ trip to Kinshasha will need to impinge on the 1-1 result. They need to score an early goal so as to keep their hopes high. The Congolese who who were stupendous in Kampala will be elusive at home, just like any African country.
The Crested Cranes will travel on 25th January for the clash. They will rely on Fatuma Luwedde, Shamim Nantege and Ritah Kivumbi. The robust Congolese under coach Dabuso Nga Nzay will bank on Tondo Lungemba, Nalenbo Ivonne and Diakesse Nalunzodi.
