Uganda Franchise sides head to Nairobi as UCA polls close in

Ugandan franchise sides; Nile Knights and Rwenzori Warriors left for Nairobi yesterday morning for the finals of the first editions of the East African Cup and Premier league.

The sides started their voyage by road using Easy coach at 9:00AM. Nile Knights will play the fellow Ugandan side in the 50 over Premier league final today  at 1PM. Nile Knights will also lock horns on Sunday morning with Kenyan outfit, Kongonis in the 20 over version at 9 AM. Both ties will be at the Nairobi Gymkhana Club Oval.

Back at home, UCA polls get underway tomorrow at Oasis restaurant, Lugogo. There will be an elective assembly to elect the new board executive. Jackson Kavuma, an ACC manager and Rounders’ Amos Kyazze are all in for posts. Richard Mwami, a former national team player especially at the start of last decade who boasts Ugandan cricket knowledge is also among the contestants.

Dr. Fred Sebbaale is the outgoing UCA head. During his reign, Uganda hosted and won ICC Africa T20 championships last year and Ugandan cricket was first televised in his reign.
