SC Villa Confirm Sale of Denis Guma to Big League side Victoria University

SC.Villa’s director of football strategy Joseph Kanaaba has confirmed the club has sold defender Denis Guma to Victoria University. The former Villa captain becomes the most expensive player with in the domestic league after his new club paid $ 10,000 for his services beating the record set by Simon Sserunkuma who joined Villa from Victors F.c $8,000 four seasons ago.

It should be remembered that Denis Guma had a burst up with manager Mike Mutebi at training over tactics and didn’t turn up for training sessions the days that followed after his three match ban from Fufa for absconding from national team duty during the preparations for the LG Cup in Morocco. Ever since that burst up, it was evident Guma’s time at Villa Park was limited and there was no way the club would resist such an offer.

“The player had interest in joining the club and went on to agree personal terms and just let us to consider our offer,” stated Kanaaba. ” We thank him for the contribution he has offered to Villa and wish him good luck at his new club,” added Kanaaba. The talented defender who joined the club in the 2008/09 season was voted the club’s best player last season and handed the club’s arm band at the start of this season. He joins a list of players who have exited the Nsambya based side in January including Kalyowa Emma, Edirisa Kaye, Cliff Lukanga, Ssekisambu Erias, Etumba Terry, Kigonya Mathias (all released) and Musana Ronald (loaned to Water F.C). In a related development, Malidad Said Bukenya has also joined Victoria University from Masaka L.C
