Minister cools down FUFA-USL war

Minister Charles Bakabulinde organized a reconcile retreat between the two conflicting football bodies FUFA and USL limited at Oasis restaurant in Kampala despite FIFA being against government intervention in sports administration.

In the meeting which was presided over by the minister and different football stakeholders present, it passed resolutions which took effect instantly.

The meeting kept alive USL limited Chairman Ban for 11year and he was told if not comfortable with the

decision to appeal to the FUFA disciplinary committee for a fair hearing.

“We have taken these decisions in good faith for the development of sports, I can’t lay down when soccer is losing out in these wrangles, and all decisions take effect now” Charles Bakabulinde stated shortly after the summit.

“Football will finally take the pole position after this meeting that has been shared by the minister himself, after this I believe the league is likely to kick start this Friday with games being officiated by creditable referees” Mujjibi Kasule, FUFA Vice president.

Paul Kabaikaramu the league manager will run the provisional committee that will run the league from this Friday, and the previous league games which were officiated by unauthorized FUFA referees have been cancelled. Hoima FC will also be reinstated in the league.
