Beach Woodball to hit off 2012 season

The woodball calendar will start with the 1st edition of the beach woodball circuit this weekend.
The event will takeplace at Lido beach Entebbe, who are the main sponsors.

The event is being organised by the technical committee of the Uganda Woodball Federation. 
Over 100 participants from nine clubs and a couple of individuals are already confirmed to grace the event.

Many of the clubs set to feature are university sides like MUBS, Ndejje, Kampala, Kyambogo and not forgeting Nkumba who will have the shortest trip to the venue.

Other sides include Bank of Uganda, Ndejje woodball club, Source of the Nile Heat woodball club and Cyprus woodball club.
Lillian Zawedde of Ndejje university, gold medal winner in last December’s interuniversity games is tipped to come top. The 2011 USPA woodballer topped last year’s beach events.
Other big names on the menu are Tonny Lumala from Nkumba, Emeu Nicholas from MUBS, Atamba Onesmus and Sophie Namuddu from Ndejje woodball club.
“This is the first of the three beach woodball circuits that will be awarding the overall best athletes under the beach woodball category” said J.Baptist Kateregga, a Uganda woodball official.
