Kawuma/Wanyama  lead at Mulago Open Chess Championship

Olympians Patrick Kawuma and Harold Wanyama are in a joint lead at 4 points apiece after 4 rounds in the Mulago Open Chess Championship that is ongoing at Pope Paul Memorial Hotel in Rubaga.

Wanyama beat Rajab Kamoga in the fourth round while Kawuma beat fellow Olympian Bob Bibasa to assume the lead. The two leaders are destined to play each other in the fifth round to be played on the morning of Sunday 19th February 2012.

There are three more rounds to go in the event sponsored by Mulago Chess Club. In the ladies category, Christine Namaganda is leading with 4 points followed by Phiona Mutesi at 3 points and Cathy Kenyange at 2.5 points.
