Competition is expected from the new schools that have managed to dwarf the traditional volleyball names like Nabisunsa and Namagunga. Losing finalist in the last two events to Trust High School and Brethren College, Summaya Girls will be looking to go a step higher by winning the top accolades in the annual event.
Schools that field mercenaries will be disqualified from the tournament and another requirement is to field only two foreign players. This regulation was introduced a few years ago to ensure more exposure opportunities for Ugandan students. Maryhill Mbarara, Nabisunsa, St Joseph’s Nsambya, St. Mary’s Namagunga, Dabani Girls Busia, Seroma, Katikamu SDA, and Summaya Girls are some of t he schools expected to take part.
