News reaching us indicates that UVF President Mr. Sadik Nasiwu has refused to renew Head of Sports Organising Commission Mr. Raffi Bachu’s contract. This was in a communication from the President to the SOC Head which further placed the commission under the caretaker-ship of the Technical Director. Rumours have it that in-subordination was the cause of Mr. Bachu’s down fall.
Raffi who also doubled as Head Coach of KCC ladies’ team during MUK Open went ahead and fielded three un-transferred players who the Federation had temporarily stopped from being used by any club until their transfers were completed.
In the same tournament KCC men fielded two players who have been playing semi-professional volleyball in Burundi without formal evidence on contract termination from their clubs. The UVF Executive is yet to meet to decide on the fate of the Club and the implicated players.
