
The national Handball side after winning gold in Kenya has been assured of continental competition after lifting the International Handball Federation Challenge Trophy for Eastern Africa (Zone 5b) in Nairobi. With the date and venue yet to be communicated team Uganda soldiered on against all against a stubborn Kenyan side.
Led by veteran captain Ibrahim Kongo in a game Uganda badly needed to shield off second placed saw
the former registered a 34-32 hard fought win. Felix Mukunzi top scored for Uganda with 8, Asumani Numba and Kongo both managed 5.
Though Kenya put up a spirited fight in the 2nd half, it was not enough to cover Uganda since the time had run out. The ladies crown was won by the hosts as Uganda managed second place
