This Sunday the National senior men’s team will have their first training session at MUBS grounds starting at 1000hrs. In an effort the Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) has come up as a way of the maintaining structure of the team ahead of the Zone five competitions.
Speaking to kawowo sports UVF vice president, Naison Bwesigye welcomed the move from their technical wing. “Though we are not sure when the Zone five will be taking place, it’s better that we start training as a way of keeping the guys together,” said Bwesigye.
He also revealed to this reporter that Uganda had bided to host the competition (Zone Five) but lack of a venue hindered their chances. “We thought Lugogo would be ready by the time the competition comes around but the regional body wasnt sure about our readiness,” he added. It will be Coach Anthony Ndawula’s first training session since his appointment last year with Sam Meya his assistant.
The players summoned include: Gayi Albert, Opendi John, Lakony Tonny, Omedo Isaac, Otim Dickens, Mathew Mwenyi, Eitit Luke, Aporu George, Tom Amou, Mubangizi Lius, Tonny Oleuko, Chestit Jensen, Wandera Andrew, Emma Kato, Dheyongera Nicholas, Opio Daniel, Simon Golola, Nduhukire Alex and Edward Bwengye.
