Patidar start title defence

The defending champions, Patidar Samaj who swept away almost every title in last year’s Uganda cricket calendar will be back in action on Sunday against Charity Trust Fund at Entebbe Cricket oval.

Patidar lost to Charity in the semi-final of the recently concluded T20 League and ever since then they have been out of contention.

The side poses a threat in Akbar Baig, who scooped the man of series award in the recent T20 league, a tourney that Patidar failed to retain.

Elsewhere in the division 1, Sam Walusimbi’s Wanderers’ side that fell short of success in both the T20 and Championship trophies early this year will face SKLPS in Kyambogo this Sunday in the 50-over edition.

SKLPS who are new comers in division 1 cricket who trounced Challengers last weekend by 28 runs at Lugogo will not lie back in this tie.

In division 2, Warriors CC will play against SVPC in Buddo and Mwiri CC travels to Jinja to face JICC (Jinja Indians), all T20 duet games.

Meanwhile, due to the Rwandan cricket side tour to Uganda this weekend, the Nile-Rounders game has been postponed to pave way for the last trial game on Sunday at Lugogo.
