The East African netball championships return this weekend with National Insurance Netball (NIC) netball club bidding to go fifteen better by lifting the trophy at the MTN Arena in Lugogo. NIC has won the championship a record 14 times and straight the last five years which will once again make them the team to beat.

The action from Lugogo venue will start this Sunday and will go on until April 6 on Friday. Over fifteen clubs

have confirmed participation from as far as Zanzibar, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda who have registered four ladies and three men’s teams.

David Katende has been selected by National Council of Sports (NCS) to head the local organizing committee, as Netball is currently run by council. Entrance will be free to the fans was all netball lovers from all walks of life are expected to grace the tournament.
