Close to 150 golfers hit the course tomorrow and Sunday for the grand MTN mugs of the month of February and March at the par 72 Kitante golf course as the golfing season at Uganda Golf Club picks momentum.
All eyes will be on national golfer Willy Kitata as he chases for back to back mugs having won the January one however he will have to stave off challenges from Abbey Bagalana, John Basabose, Morris Ntege, Philip Kasozi and several other top amateur golfers.
In the ladies section all eyes will be on UPDF’s Flavia Namakula, Petra Nalwoga, winner of the Ladies group A for January others to watch out for will be Jasper Kamukama, Eva Magala, Aggie Konde Monica Ntege,Gloria Mbaguta,Kate Kabenge just to mention.
The monthly golf tournaments are bankrolled by Mobile phone giants MTN Uganda. The tournaments climax at the end of the year with top professional golfer with the most points being crowned the Pro Series and walking away with a hefty cheque from the sponsors.
Deo Akope claimed won January mug and while Herman Mutawe and Vincent Byamukama took those for February and March.
