USL: Utoda 1: 4 Proline
Proline FC took a big step towards progression in the USL when they thrashed relegation strugglers UTODA 1-4 at the Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku this evening. Rwandan international Charles Tibingana set the ball rolling on fifteen minutes with his first of the season. A thunderbolt minute’s after William Wadri had missed with only the goalkeeper to beat.
With UTODA not ready to cause any harm the visitors were very wasteful in front of goal and the culprits
included Tibingaba and Wadri whose lack of calmness in front of goal almost cost the team. Ten minutes into the second half, Proline benefited from a mistake when advancing Simon Namwaja brought in a cross that Isaac Ssemwezi fumbled with before Wadri connected Tibingana to make a finish into an empty net.
The balance swung in the visitors’ favor 30 minutes to time when Wadri put on a man of the match performce when he crossed into the area for Tibingana to finish with his head in close range. Paddy Muhumza had already paved way for the struggling Gift Ali when Abdulla Mubiru introduced Anthony Bongole and veteran midfielder Abubaker Tabula after 70 minutes.
Utoda’s Xzinda Hussein scored what turned out to be a consolation when he calmly looped debutant custodian Ivan Ntambi though minutes later he was awarded the same opportunity but his effort went wide by inches. The most significant action late in the game was a goal by Bongole who scored his a first of the season and again it was Wadri with the assist.
