Express FC/URA FC in stalemate in Bell Super League thriller

Express football club settled for a two all draw with league champions URA FC in a thrilling game played at the Mutesa II stadium,Wankululuku in the Bell Uganda Super League this afternoon.

Feni Ali opened the scoring for the visitors in the tenth minute with a shot after chesting down a pass by Sula Bagala in a game that had both sides wasting several glaring chances. Elisa Sekisambu, leveled the score for the Red Eagles with a header to end the first half at par.

Simeon Masaba, then scored an own goal in a goal scramble in

the 66th minute to give Express a 2-1 cushion,but URA’s custodian Allan Owiny converted a penalty after Musa Mukasa had handled in the forbidden area.

“I am disappointed with the result and we should have won this game after creating and wasting several chances,” a disappointed Express coach Sam Ssimbwa said. “I have no problem with the referee and although some of his decisions where questionable he controlled the game well.”

The result gives Express a one point lead in the league with 39 points out of 20 games while URA has 38 out of 18 and still in contention to retain there crown for a second year running.
