Rain washes out WOB- kenya Prisons game

Uganda’s men, WOB Netball club and Kenya Prisons were unable to play their entire fixture in the East African Netball Championships when rain washed out the game with only seven minutes to play.  WOB were on the losing side (42-22) when the heavens let loose in a game they had little to do to avoid defeat.

Though the technical team and managers of both teams reached a harmonious decision to award Kenya prisons the win. Speaking to Kawowo Sports, National council of Sports (NCS) official, Timothy Magala

Ssemakula called it one of natural calamities they couldn’t stop. “Even if the match was in paradise some hand of natural catastrophe would have intervened,” Magala said.

The tournament was pushed to Makerere University from Lugogo MTN Arena at the last minute with NCS citing that former as more spacious than the latter.

The earlier fixtures went on uninterrupted as holders National Insurance Cooperation (NIC) were inspired by Peace Proscovia who managed 59 goals as they registered a 76-21 win over UPDF. Taking her tally to 131 goals, which make her the leading scorer in the championship.

KCCA were humbled by fellow Uganda side prisons 33-56 while Ministry of Information (MOIC) and Communication from Kenya fought tooth and nail t overcome UPDF 45-40

MOIC later humiliated fellow countrymen mahala 55-28, while KCCA were on the losing side again when Police trounced those 55-28.
