Rockets and Weatherhead A rose victors in the men’s and ladies groups in turn in the hockey Easter Open held at Lugogo hockey grounds on Saturday.
Rockets had an enormous 9-0 thumping over Kakungulu Memorial and two 3-0 wins over Wanaichi and Kings’ College Budo.
Weatherhead A also managed a 2-0 and 4-0 wins over Kampala and Budo in turn to crown up the ladies’ category.
The event did not attract any international sides.
According to Jackie Namyalo, the quintessence of the event was to prepare local clubs for the national hockey league due to start on April 21.
