Bunamwaya dispose URA as they close the gap on Express

Ceasar Okhtui and Tony Odur inspired Bunamwaya to a comprehensive 2-1 thrashing of KCC in the Bell Uganda Super League on Saturday. Bunamwaya coach Edward Golola welcomed the return of Hakim Sekumba and Godfrey Walusimbi back though he combined Martin Muwanga, Okhuti and Kizito Luwaga upfront with Odur patrolling just behind them.

The three were given free reign by their manager and the visitors reaped the reward, with Okhuti finding the break thorugh on 37 minutes after a long ball by Ronald Sekubomba deep in his own half.

Despite the visitors’ one-off dominance, coach Morley Byekwaso was almost celebrating as Cesar Sapeo gifted by a mix-up in the Bunamwaya found himself face to face with Hamza Muwonge but shot straight at him on 17 minutes.

Okhuti marked by gigantic Israel Emuge controlled and turned with Pace and his powerful shot gave no chance to Custodian Godfrey Wakaubu. Luwaga was booked for complaining to match official Denis Bate for express frustration.

Bunamwaya had the chance to make it 2-0 before the break when Muwanga and Odur made a massive contribution to their side’s title challenge when the latter set up Luwaga only for his shot to be cleared off the line by Saka Mpiima. Nicholas Wadada’s run on the right of the box at an improbable angle set up Okhuti but he had no ability by firing a lightning bolt of a shot straight in Wakabu’s hands.

KCC then introduced busting Brian Majenga who added speed on the right wing though Wadada was up to the task. Skipper Robert Kimulu wasted a golden chance at the back post after controlling Wadada’s cross but lacked the calmness to make it 2-0.

On 68 minutes Golola responded by introduced defender/midfielder Murushid Juuko for the tired Muwanga and his presence kept KCC at bay. Luzige came on for Sekumba to pile pressure on the relaxing KCC defense and made life uncorfotbale for Emuge ans Richard Malinga.

KCC’s optimism of getting anything from the game was shot lived as an inspired push for an equalizer ended in the visitor’s half when Okhuti’s cross from the left found unmarked Odur to score his fifth of the season.
