
Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) confirmed Uganda as the host to the 2012 African qualification for zone-5 youth and junior beach volleyball for girls and boys at Lido Beach Resort on April 27-28. The two-day event will be preceded with a technical meeting on Thursday 27th April at which the CAVB president, Dr. Elwani is expected to preside over.
The UVF technical director, Godwin Ssenyondo together with national coach Meya Sam are taking charge of preparing the Ugandan sides that will include
a pair each for boys (U19&U21) and girls (U18&U20) in the youth and junior categories in turn.
Zone-5 comprises 12 countries; Egypt, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan, Djibouti, Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and hosts Uganda. The top four teams will advance to the second round involving the rest of the continent later in May.
