Though Makerere University (MUK) is a strong academic side, Mwiri CC maintained an impressive form with 8 wicket and 13 run wins over at Entebbe oval in the second division of the Multiple Industries’ cricket league on Sunday.
Captain Abhinandan Prasad the youngest player in the league, won both tosses, chose to field and bat respectively in the two games.
MUK were all out for 83 runs in 17.3 overs. Mwiri chased to post 84 runs for the loss of two wickets with Daniel Batuwa notching 35runs off 35 balls.
Mwiri’s Peter Tusiime garnered the man-of-the-match award with his bowling figures of 5/12 in four overs.
Mwiri later set 92 runs for a nine wicket loss in 20 overs and MUK collapsed at 79 runs with 1.5 overs to unused.
