Bell Uganda Cup Preview: URA FC vs M

Hosts aim to keep their double dream alive.

Alex Isabirye’s side go into the tie knowing that picking a good result from the first leg will enlighten their chances of reaching their first cup finals since 2009. The league Champions who currently lie second on the league table will also aim at keeping their chances of winning the league and cup double for the first time in history.

URA FC is expected to have Allan Owiny in goal,

Simeon Masaba, Allan Munaba, Sam Mubiru and Phillip Ssempiira in defence. Captain Manko Kaweesa, Oscar Agaba and U-20 international Said Kyeyune in midfield. Club leading scorer this season Robert Ssentongo is expected to lead a three man attack alongside two from Augustine Nsumba, Vincent Kayizzi, Sula Bagala or Benson Ociti. Experienced strikers in Hamis Kitagenda and Peter “Crouch”Ssenyonjo  are also available for selection.

Masaka LC Coach Kefa Kisala will have to approach the game with out his leading marks man Rashid Kyambadde (malaria), Tom Hiire (knee) and Robert Kawesa  (haernia). Andy Kiwewa is expected to fill in for Tom Hiire while Moustapha Kasolo is set to replace Kyambadde and partner Ismail Kigozi in attack.

Danger man Martin Kivumbi is expected to maintain his starting berth on the right wing. Issa Lumu may also replace Kawesa in the starting line up. The last time the two sides met at Lugazi, the tax collectors won the tie 1-0 while Masaka LC won the reverse fixture at Masaka 2-0. Both games were in the league this season. The second leg is set for Friday this week at Masaka Recreation Ground.
