• Buddo SS 1-0 Aidan College

Buddo SS finished in the third place of the USSSA Wakiso Zone Boys Football Championship.

Buddo SS secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Aidan College in the Zone Football Championship at Wakisha Grounds on Tuesday.

The National Defending Champions found themselves in unfamiliar territory playing a placement game in the District games.

Ten minutes into the game, Aboy Abroz broke the deadlock with simple rebound steps away from the goalline.

The attack was started by Geofrey Nyonyintono, whose pass penetrated through the backline to meet Abasaali Kisambira. The forward failed to finish off the chance before Abroz cleaned the mess.

From that point, Nyonyintono dictated play as his short and long passes kept Aidan’s midfield out of shape.

Aidan College tried to respond through Ibrahim Ssekyewa and Micheal Ssekalega but Buddo SS backline stood firm and tall on the day.

In the second half, Aidan College greatly improved as Sadat Kyalula drove the ball from deep, but they lacked the sharpness to kill off their chances.

Sudaise Sserwanga came off the bench and gave Aidan College a big push going into the final third as he asked Buddo’s backline several questions.

In the dying minutes of the game, Buddo got two clear-cut chances to double their lead, but Aidan College goalkeeper Bob Ssewakilyanga made superb saves on the day.
